Back from the Break

Under: Thinking Out Loud
Pardon the absence, took a brief break to sort out some mental issues while providing southern hospitality for numerous guests. It was a short-lived but fun break, so I am fairly pleased (had 3 friends from Singapore in town, my girlfriend rode a bus to come see me last weekend, working off some of my debt, assembling my near-future, spent quality time with the family... who wouldn't be pleased?). But now I am back to use this blog as my outlet, yissss.
OK so after 4 months of reading (compared to Crista's 3), I finally finished The Time Travelers Wife, by Audrey Niffeneger. It was an emotionally riveting book, I must say. Of course I was inclined to read this novel because I am a liberal romantic with an eccentric imagination; but I did not know that it was going to make me feel the way I felt at the end of the book, so... Bravo. What I did find interesting is that Crista and I both felt like we were time travelers after we finished reading the book. Why? We are in love, unconditional love, and we are in places, different places. Luckily, with a combined undying effort (and quite a sum of money) we were able to see eachother 6 times last semester (more than once a month!), so it wasn't THAT bad. Regardless, we are so in love with eachother that the idea of marriage does not seem so out of the ordinary anymore... so living apart from one another and only getting to visit is kind of like taking a young boy from his single mother and only allowing them to see one another about once a month (I would act the same way, if I were taken from my mother, as I do with Crista when we are apart... Freud and transference?) But anyways, I highly recommend this novel for any readers that seek emotional provocation in reading (or for those in long distance relationships). I mediocrely recommend this book to anybody wanting to learn the hardships of an intimate relationship. I lowly recommend this book for anyone who dislikes love stories because the book had enough substance to even keep ME hooked for the entire 400+ page ride. And lastly, I generally recommend this book to anyone that likes to take breaks from non-fiction.
Well anyways, lots happened in this past month, I'll slowly be able to recap what went down as time and energy allow me too. For now, gotta wake up for class tomorrow... Peace.
