Sunny day in Sun Life Stadium, gloomy day for the Colts, bonerific day for the Saints, and a glorious day for the city of New Orleans (this Superbowl win has all of a sudden fixed all of New Orleans problems, what a blessing). The fate of the game was said to be decided by the performance of the Saints, and it turned out to be true. It all boiled down to Indianapolis not being able to contain the Saints' multiple offensive threats in the most important moments (due to zone coverage and double manning Marques Colston to make room for Bush/Thomas). The game was a huge passing game with 621 yards in the air... run game was fairly irrelevant besides the 3rd down pick ups and Joseph Addai's 4 yard run. Brees was able to connect with 8 different receivers utilizing his short passes to Reggie Bush and Pierre (Colts Pierre Garcon wasn't too shabby either, nice TD grab, he is one to look out for in fantasy leagues) Thomas very well and hooking up with Colston and Devery Henderson 7 times each. Dallas Clark and Austin Collie (Reggie Wayne was held under 50 yards and only 5 catches) had 7 and 6 receptions respectively, giving Peyton Manning 333 yards through the air and most of the field movement throughout the game. The Saints were able to stuff the Colts by seemingly neurolynguistically manipulating Manning's genius. Overall the game was a lot closer than the score seemed to entail... of course Jeremy Shockey's late touchdown grab paired with Lance Moore's 2 point conversion catch and Tracy Porter's 74 yard game sealing interception were almost unmatchable (even to the Colts-or Manning's-inane 2 minute drill skills) to any football team in the league. Yay for New Orleans, was a good game played... oh yeah, Sean Payton nice calls there, was safe to switch to aerial attack... usually works. wtf, I wasn't even really interested in this Superbowl.
