I write free hand and free verse when it comes to personal narratives... I have this blog, journals, and documents dedicated to remembering most of my deep thoughts and feelings. I do this so that I can reflect on these captured moments later in my life... it also helps to forge a concrete ideology (that I can call my own) in a life of constant evolution. Another, more research based, reason is to gather enough observations and notes for me to conduct my own experiments and studies when I am ready to. All of this translates into why I record.
How? My recordings are auditory documents, which also capture my deepest thoughts and feelings and store them for listening purposes further down the line. I chose to record simply because I had no other forms of instrumentation readily available for my usage. It turns out that I have crafted my ability to vocally express myself to a point where I can confidently share my vocalized thoughts with the rest of the world. I figure that out of 7 billion humans there are at least 5 that can relate to my work... and hopefully those 5 will communicate with me so that I can hear what they have to say about their own experiences... that might not happen for a while, though.
Publicly exhibiting any type of art (in a serious fashion) requires the acceptance of the fact that you are permitting yourself to be a voice for the human condition... a voice that can resonate well, or poorly, with many. I do my very best to exert nothing but positivity and optimism, sometimes in a constructively critical manner, on the ears and minds of the many inhabitants of our world. I wouldn't consider myself as an entertainer... I would prefer to be rendered as a vocally expressive member of the global panglossian movement, dedicated to bettering the minds and lives of all my fellow hominids.
